About me
I studied Law and Business Administration at the Complutense University in Madrid. In 2012 I also obtained a Master's degree in International Finance, awarded by the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts, and I have two European and international Financial Analyst diplomas (Certified European Financial Analyst and Certified International Investment Analyst, respectively).
In 2012 I started working for Banco Santander, in the Investor Relations Division. I joined Indra in 2013 and work in the International Business Development Department, specializing in the Financial Services market.
My project
I work in the International Business Development Department and specialize in the Financial Services (banking and insurance) market. My job consists in promoting Indra's growth abroad in the Financial Services sector, accompanying various international clients. Understanding market needs is crucial, and keeping abreast of the latest trends in all the countries where we operate.
What role does technology play in your career?
As a consultant, my job consists in helping our clients to solve their business needs and problems, using technological solutions to do so. We assist clients in this process by providing them with all the technologies that Indra works with.
My daily routine
I don't have "typical days"! Every day is different! I holding meetings with clients (since I'm in the international division these tend to be telephone calls or video conferences), we work on the business plan for different regions, I meet with corporate and technical teams to come up with proposals, or I travel to a particular country to meet with clients there... So there's a bit of everything!
What I like most about working here (work environment, projects, training, work-life balance, career, colleagues, etc. Tell us what you really like! )
One of the best things is that I have a "Consultant Plan", a career plan specially designed for new appointments. A group of us started together (today some of them are my friends as well as work colleagues) and followed a training program for a few days. That made our induction so much easier.
Besides, there's quite a lot of flexibility regarding working hours and the way we work. The important thing is to achieve your work goals, but you can organize your own schedule. At Indra the trust that my supervisors place in me is helping me to discover all of my abilities.
What I most value about my job is...
The international vision. Being able to work with different teams and cultures, and broadening my general knowledge. I've learned something from everyone I've worked with.
Why I chose Indra and what sets it apart from other companies
Indra is a Spanish company yet international through and through. We work with financial institutions but with public administrations as well, and with telcos, health organizations, and so on.
The chance to work with other countries and learn about different sectors is what appealed to me the most... The possibilities are endless!
Outside the office I enjoy...
In general, I like to take things easy with friends and family. Going to the theater, traveling, eating out... Oh, and as a hobby I'm learning Arabic.
My advice is…
There's a widespread belief that any profile that is not purely "technological" has no place at Indra. That tends to put people off if they're thinking about working here. I know that through acquaintances of mine who work elsewhere or are looking for work and haven't studied some branch of engineering.
I have a degree in Law and Business Administration, so my technological knowledge when I joined the company was somewhat limited... In my job I provide the "business" vision, because of my knowledge of financial markets. Besides, our clients don't usually talk about technology per se. We tend to discuss business concepts.
The important thing here (as in every aspect of life) is to be constant, to work hard and enthusiastically. The company is so vast that you'll find your place if you want to. And the possibilities for personal development within the company are enormous.
In general, most of what you achieve depends on you.
